Sam Loco Efe
Veteran Nollywood actor and comedian, Sam Loco-Efe, to become one of Nigeria’s biggest agribusiness entre-preneurs, ended on Sunday, August 7, 2011, after he was found dead in his hotel room in Owerri, Imo State, shortly after returning from a movie location.
The actor reportedly died at the age of 66 years, though an expert on him at the NLNG awards in 2010 said he was 70 years.
The Imo State Commi-ssioner of Police, Mr Moha-mmed Abubakar, confir-med his death.
Sam Loco, as he was popularly called, began his theatre profession in 1968, when he established the Overamwen National Theatre Group in Benin, Edo State, his hometown.www.mannastores.com

Despite winning laurels with his theatre troupe, Sam Loco decided to join Michelin in 1969. After being sacked from Michelin, he moved to Dunlop.
Sam Loco was still at Dunlop when a new drama series, Hotel De Jordan, started in 1970 and he was drafted to play one of the lead characters called Picado Suberu. It was from there that his started moving from one recording and stage location to the other.
He also played a prominent role for the Bendel Art Council during FESTAC ’77 in Lagos, as he was part of the lead artistes who performed Langbodo during the festival.
Sam Loco was a professional to the core and could perform both on stage as well as in front of the camera, something not all artistes are gifted with.
The late actor, talking about what gave him fulfil-ment in life, said it was the influence he had in the lives of upcoming actors.
