A Ugandan woman who at the time of arrest was Ms Anne Birungi and later turns out she is Kiconco based on the passport that is held by the Ugandan police over a similar crime. Kiconco was on June 5 found trafficking over 20kgs of cocaine.
According to police records, Kiconco posed as a UNDP and Uganda Foreign Affairs Ministry official. The cocaine was packed in black boxes which were labeled Diplomatic Bag. It is these very labels that helped her evade the authorities at all the airports she had gone through right from Peru, Brazil, South Africa and then Kenya.
On police stopping her at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, she flushed the UNDP ID which emerged to be fake later. When Kiconco was interrogated further ,she did not even know the headquarters of UN nor did she know the Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs in Uganda.
The alleged UNDP officer wanted to travel to Uganda by road after traveling that long something that made the authorities even more suspicious.
l didnt know Ugandans take cocaine,l thought they liked ganja and some other grown weed here..heheheh
