A 4-year old in Atlanta, GA may have acquired a sexually transmitted disease after attempting to blow up a used condom that he found in his hotel bed. The young boy and his grandmother were staying at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in downtown Atlanta on July 31st. The next morning, his grandmother, Carmen Jones, found him playing with the contraceptive device:
NEWS REPORT FROM WSHH.
“I ran out the bathroom and my grandson had a condom in his mouth. His tongue was in the condom and he was trying to blow it up. I immediately took it out of his mouth and he thought it was a balloon, that he was blowing up a balloon. It still had, what appeared to be semen in the condom. I wanted to take the condom and have it tested,” says Carmen Jones.
Jones said that the manager at the Wyndham Hotel would not let her take the condom. After 24 hours, she noticed that her grandson started throwing up and developing a high fever.
“Little white blisters all on the top of his mouth, on his tongue, inside the mouth, inside the lip the bottom lip, it was all over,” said Jones.low it up. I immediately took it out of his mouth and he thought it was a balloon, that he was blowing up a balloon,” said Jones.
CBS Atlanta News went to the Wyndham Hotel with our tough question only to find out the Wyndham no longer owns the building at the corner of Piedmont and Andrew Young International Boulevard. The grandmother has yet to know if her 4 year-old has herpes, AIDS or any other sexually transmitted disease.
